A nine-year-old Amish girl has died after she was dragged by a horse in Pennsylvania.

The girl died at a Salisbury Township farm on Tuesday after being pulled by the horse for about a quarter of a mile, according to the coroner’s office. 

She had been training the horse with a lead wrapped around her wrist when the animal became spooked and took off, taking her along, as reported by WGAL. 

The child was taken to Lancaster General Hospital where she died.

The death has been ruled an accident. 

Her cause of death is believed to be multiple traumatic injuries. 

The coroner’s office has not identified the girl.
