A helicopter has crashed into the ocean off the coast of Victoria, sparking fears for the pilot and multiple passengers onboard.
Police confirmed three people were onboard a chopper which was seen crashing into water at Point Lonsdale, near Geelong on the tip of the Bellarine Peninsula just after 10am on Friday.
Ambulance Victoria also responded to reports of an aircraft incident and paramedics rushed to the scene.
All three passengers made it to shore and were located by passersby who contacted emergency services.
Victoria Police said a yet to be formally identified man and woman have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
Another unidentified man has been taken by road to hospital with serious injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined at this stage.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate the crash with assistance from police.
